What is hybrid welding?
Process: Laser + Halogen = Hybrid
Hybrid welding combines two different sources of radiation and offers many advantages compared to conventional welding processes.
- Primary sources of radiation: laser radiation (NIR-wavelength spectrum)
- Secondary source radiation: halogen radiation (polychromatic radiation)
Advantages of hybrid welding
- Reduction of laser power
- Higher welding speed
- Increased seam strength
- Larger process window
- Better process stability
- Less stress fractures
- improved gap bridging
